WE PRACTICE TELEMEDICINE
This lowers barriers to care such as the need for transportation, childcare, and time off work. Healis can meet patients wherever and whenever they wish, and we work with translators when needed.
OUR MISSION
To improve the health of people in our communities by breaking down barriers to care for those:
-
Living in remote or underserved locations
-
With little access to health-related information
-
Lacking knowledge about health-care systems
-
Struggling to cover medical and insurance costs
-
Within linguistic or cultural minority groups and marginalized populations
PARTNER WITH US
Healis partners with organizations to provide a physician workforce and implement a customized telemedicine initiative. Our initiatives are guided by each organization’s expert understanding of the needs of their patient population.
We partner with:
-
Governments (federal, state, county, municipal)
-
Non-profit organizations
-
Colleges and universities
-
Companies of any size
-
Community organizations
THE HEAL PROJECT
The Health Extension for our Afghan ALlies (HEAL) Project by the Afghan Medical Professionals Association of America (AMPAA) and Healis Health, in partnership with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), is committed to expanding mental health access to the recently resettled Afghan community in the United States.
MENTAL HEALTH CARE
Telemedicine is an ideal environment for meeting the urgent need for mental health care, which has been a focus for Healis Health.
Through HEAL, we have enabled access to mental health care with meaningful results:
-
Reduced average wait times for mental health care from five months to one week
-
Achieved a 95% visit completion rate for patients, despite significant barriers faced by our Afghan refugee population
-
Reduced costly and ineffective emergency room visits which helped stabilize budgets for states and organizations
